Built in the early 1900s, the Morrison Hotel building has been the central hub for DESC’s homeless services since it first opened an overnight shelter here in 1979. Housed here are DESC’s main offices, an emergency shelter serving highly vulnerable single homeless adults, crisis support and referral services; state-licensed mental health and chemical dependency treatment services and 190 units of permanent supportive housing with 24/7 on-site services for formerly homeless adults. Since the last major renovation in 2004, several building systems in this aging building require replacement. Lotus is providing project management for this occupied renovation including finance, development and construction management services.
