Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) provides effective and affordable solutions to homelessness for Seattle’s community’s most vulnerable men and women through a network of care, housing, and support. Rainier House is part of DESC’s network. Constructed in 2008 at a cost of approximately $9 Million, Rainier House comprises about 55,000 sf and has 50 units of supportive housing for men and women with mental illness who have spent long periods of time living on the streets or shelters. Rainier House is an integral party of DESC’s mission to offer shelter and end the homelessness of Seattle’s most vulnerable people through an integrated array of services and housing.
